Yoga class levels

Easy
Suitable for beginners to yoga or for those experienced students looking for an easy-going yoga class.

Mixed
Designed for those looking to deepen their yoga practice or for those new to yoga that prefer a more active class. Mixed classes assume some prior knowledge of yoga alignment, especially sun salutations.

Active
Physically challenging or vigorous yoga class that develops strength, stamina and flexibility.

Class Descriptions

Hatha
Classes include yoga postures (asanas), with breathing to build deeper awareness and control of body and mind. Develop strength, flexibility, balance, concentration, and breath control.

Hatha Basics
For beginners or those revisiting the basics. Learn basic poses, alignment, conscious breathing and how to relax.

Hatha flow
Movement and breath linked together in a more vigorous vinyasa practice using sun salutations to transition between poses. Designed for those with some experience.

Slow flow
Classical vinyasa-krama yoga that eloquently links all movements with deep ujjayi (yogic) breathing.

Core activation
Work towards increasing strength, resilience and flexibility in the body and mind, this class is physically challenging.

Deepening hatha
Clinic-style class that enables you to find a deeper internal awareness and bring about a greater level of ease in your asana practice. This class assumes an established yoga practice and can be challenging. Class will give students tools to take their practices further, perhaps to more advanced postures, or perhaps to just a deeper level of awareness, or even a heightened meditative state

Gentle yoga
A class for individuals with either physical challenges, overcoming injuries, or those looking for slower pace. Modifications are given to suit your needs so that you find comfort in each yoga pose.

Relax and Restore
Therapeutic style of yoga which utilizes props in a supportive environment for total relaxation. Each class will use 4-6 poses for a longer period of time, often ending with yoga nidra, a state of deep relaxation.

Yin yoga
Focuses on deep stretching of the fascia, slowing the body holding poses for three to five minutes per yin pose while calming the mind. It's a perfect complement to a more physical practice. Yin yoga can be challenging, inspiring and awakening.

Yoga for athletes
Designed for those working out and seeking to gain strength, flexibility and focus with yoga cross-training. Explore how to prevent repetitive stress injuries, increases range of motion while relieving muscle tension and helps recover from long training or workouts.

Self practice
The space is open, Mary will practice with you and we welcome all practices, we are here to support and inspire each other's practice. Donations accepted.
