part of our mission at east side yoga is to encourage and facilitate a meditation practice for our community, daily meditation will enable the yoga practitioner to make the most from all their efforts on and off the mat. yoga is the great journey, from the gross to the subtle, taking you from a unfocused mind to one of quietness and tranquility. this quietness allows us to discover our inner spirituality and true nature.

    below is a recording of a guided meditation by steven, for those wishing to meditate more regularly you can use this audio link or download as needed.   we suggest finding a quiet place to meditate and practice some asana (postures) beforehand.   if possible meditate facing the east.




    weekly meditation class

    yoga and
    meditation class thursdays 7.30pm is designed to bridge the asana classes with straightforward meditation techniques. the class will consist of a small amount of preparatory asanas followed by various pranayama techniques, pratyahara (sense withdrawal) and the use of mantras in meditation. each week will be different classical techniques will be mixed with a modern outlook to meditation.

    sunday morning meditation circle at 9.30am  is a 45 minute class where healing meditations are guided by steven, each week we explore the deeper layers of ourselves,   we will meditate for peace in ourselves, our community and our world.  donations accepted.

    esy’s meditation classes are for all levels-- everyone from the beginner to seasoned yoga practitioner is welcome and encouraged to give it a try.

    we welcome Plum Blossom sangha to our space, this Buddhist meditation group meet every sunday from 6pm to 8pm, their website is www.plumblossomsangha.org/
