Eight Fold Yoga
Eight-Fold Yoga is a systematic methodology for learning, developing and deepening a yoga practice. Designed for both the beginner and advanced practitioner alike, students learn the foundations of alignment, Sanskrit, breath work, subtle body, and the primary tenants of yogic philosophy. This 12 week program is perfect for those wanting a deeper understanding and application of yoga; from the postures we practice in group classes to the philosophical approach behind them. Eight-Fold Yoga is also a perfect prep course (and/or refresher course) for those wanting to take a teacher training program.
Thursdays 7.30pm-9.00pm February 2nd to April 20th
Cost $290 or $240 for ESY members. Drop ins $30.

Intro to Handstand and Arm Balances Workshop

Have you always wanted to explore balancing on your hands but weren’t sure where to start? Need help getting over the fear of going upside down? Join Jenn Coats as she breaks down and demystifies handstand and crow pose. You’ll learn proper alignment, biomechanics, core engagement, and strengthening exercises to safely and confidently move you towards balancing on your hands. Cost $30.

Join us for the showing of The History of Yoga, a 90 minute Vishuddi Films documentary produced by Ram Ji Om and Deepika Kothari.Take in 6,000 years of the history and philosophies of yoga through India and Nepal. You will be inspired by this authentic account of the ancient legacy of yoga!
What is Aha! Academy?
We are a brand new 501c3 non-profit organization serving the Austin Area. We are a group of teachers and artists working in community and school settings to provide quality yoga and mindfulness instruction. A vital component of our three limbed system is to provide an avenue for creative expression so we use art as a meditation tool. We provide professional performance, mentorship and community outreach.

Yoga Nidra: Get Your Rest On!

Need to recharge? Slow down? Can't sleep? Want to go deeper in your meditation and/or asana practice? Come experience iRest Yoga Nidra, inspired by Richard C. Miller, to experience greater levels of relaxation, energy, and contentment. Research shows that a 30-minute Yoga Nidra practice is equivalent to about 4 hours of deep sleep. It has also been shown that Yoga Nidra can be used as a therapeutic technique to alleviate anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

Uncloak Your Heart: A Backbending workshop
A healthy spine can move in all directions. In our day-to-day lives we are in forward bending posture quite often making backbends exhilarating and challenging. Let's work on all of the ways to move into backbends both deeply, safely, and without pain! We'll break down the keys for activating the body in order to create a stable, strong, and freeing experience in these postures using props and whole-body awareness. Karlie is known for her confidence in helping students of all levels access poses that are challenging. It is recommended that you have at least a year of consistent practice prior to attending this workshop though all are welcomed.

Community Practice and Potluck
Spend an evening with your yoga community in our first ever practice and potluck night! Karlie will lead an open practice for about 30 minutes suitable for all levels. Following that, we share in a healthy potluck and yoga chat with other like minded people.

Illuminating Your Being
A series with Denise
The koshas map the five layers of our being, from the physical body and breath to the subtlest movements of mind. They can either distract us from our inherent nature of love and wisdom or be a doorway to joy and freedom.
In this 5-week series, we'll use asana and meditation to peel apart each kosha like layers of an onion to develop a felt-sense of their qualities in the body and use this discovered knowledge to untether the mind and reveal the heart.

Hawaii Retreat with Jessica Steinbomer
We thrive through connection with others and the greater world around us. In this serene and powerful setting, we offer a way to restore our inner fire and use it in our lives to bring connection to our relationships, our work and our communities. Through shared study of ancient yogic systems and modern psychotherapeutic modalities, we will use movement and attention in our bodies to study our inner and outer worlds. There will be an emphasis on alignment, safety, and rehabilitation of the body, while holding a space for devotion, self inquiry and mindfulness.
